State Level Agencies and Laws Protecting Consumers against Robocalls, Telemarketers, and Debt Collection Calls in Connecticut:

  • Connecticut “Do Not Call” Registry (CGS §42-288a): The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection maintains a “Do Not Call” registry, allowing residents to register their phone numbers to reduce telemarketing calls. Telemarketers are prohibited from calling numbers on the list, except for certain exemptions.
  • Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA) (CGS §42-110b to 42-110g): The Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act protects consumers from deceptive trade practices, including those related to telemarketing and debt collection.
