State Level Agencies and Laws Protecting Consumers against Robocalls, Telemarketers, and Debt Collection Calls in Minnesota:

  • Minnesota Do Not Call List: The Minnesota Do Not Call List allows residents to reduce unwanted telemarketing calls. To register, visit https://mn.gov/commerce/consumers/Do-Not-Call-Registry/ or call 1-888-622-4457.
  • Minnesota Consumer Protection Act: The Minnesota Consumer Protection Act (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 325F) safeguards consumers from deceptive trade practices, including those used in telemarketing.
  • Minnesota Debt Collection Act: The Minnesota Debt Collection Act (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 332) establishes guidelines for debt collectors and protects consumers from abusive debt collection practices.
